A country zene az Amerikai Egyesült Államok déli államaiban, és az Appalache-hegység területén kialakult zenei stílus. A hagyományos népzene, a kelta zene és a gospel keveredik benne. A stílus az 1920-as években kezdett elterjedni a kissé degradáló hillbilly zene néven, majd az 1970-es évektől a country- és a western zene kifejezéseket kezdte használni a köznyelv.
